BACKGROUND

Mike Eagleton has had a passion for gardening since early childhood. Finding home in the deserts of California, the tropics of the Philippines, the woodlands of the Midwest and the high plains of Colorado, he has been exposed to a wide range of native plants and landscape styles.

Eagleton earned degrees in Landscape Design and Graphic Design from Colorado State University. He became a book and periodical designer for Meredith Corporation, the parent company of Better Homes and Gardens. Throughout his career, Eagleton has been a botanical illustrator for national publications that include Country Home, Midwest Living, The Herb Companion, as well as Better Homes and Gardens. He was also the featured watercolor artist in the book, ”Wildflowers of the American West”.

As a long time resident of the Denver area, he combines his extensive knowledge of locally tested plant material with plants from across the US to create unique and unexpected landscapes. As an avid traveler, Eagleton draws inspiration from the urban, historical and natural settings in the states and abroad.

Currently residing in the Washington Park area, Eagleton uses his garden along with a garden at his Pearl Street office to test new plant introductions and design ideas. His work has been featured in local and national publications that include Country Home, Colorado Homes and Lifestyles and Architecture and Design of the West. Recently, eight of Eagleton’s gardens were featured in the book "Magical Gardens”, Denver region.

“I choose landscape design as my career because it follows my lifelong passion and brings beauty into the community that people can enjoy.”
